This is called the Eskimo Nebula; its a picture taken by the Hubble telescope in space. The Eskimo nebula has really complex clouds that are hard for astronomers to understand. 10,000 years ago, this was a star. Each orange filament is about one light year long. When I first asw this picture it reminded me of biology, like molecules forming from a mother molecule. It is similar because it is a nebula formed from a star that might make new stars.

This is an aurora located in Norway. This was taken on Haloween and looks very spooky. Green and purple Aurora colors are caused by atmospheric oxygen and nitrogen and bursts on electrons. Other times there have been beautiful auroras caused by the suns flares. To me, the picture looks more like a painting than a photograph.

This is interstellar dust clouds in the constellation of Orion. The blue comes from the reflection of hot young blue stars in the region. McNeils nebula is also pictured. The two main nebulas are M78: Stardust and Starlight. It's interesting to me that such a vivid blue color is from the reflection of stars.
